Acupuncture Explained

Acupuncture is the ancient Chinese practice of inserting fine needles through the skin surface to stimulate specific points along energy meridians within the body. Acupuncture can be used to relieve pain, inflammation, and treat emotional imbalances, and some internal medicine based diseases. Acupuncture has been part of Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 3,000 years but has more recently been utilized in Western veterinary practices over the past 10-20 years.

Laser Therapy

What is Laser?

The term L.A.S.E.R means Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.  Laser therapy is a therapeutic treatment that uses light energy (photons) to decrease swelling, pain, inflammation, and promote healing.  During emission, photons penetrate deeply into damaged cells stimulating activities.  The energy produced promotes cell repair, the release of anti-inflammatory agents, and the transmission of pain relieving signals.  We use a Cutting Edge Class IV Cold Laser at our integrative practice.

Rehabilitation Defined

Rehabilitation is a branch of veterinary medicine aimed to enhance or restore function, mobility, and quality of life to your pet. Our hospital provides an integrated and multi-modal approach to therapy to create a program that is designed specifically for your pet and his/her lifestyle. It combines therapeutic land exercises, massage, stretch, at home exercises, activity modification, and assistive devices to help manage pain, decrease recovery time, and maintain good general health and fitness.  Rehab can be part of a therapy plan for injured patients, but it can also be incorporated into a preventative wellness plan for healthy pets as well.
